10 Laws of Truth
1. There
is one supreme and perfect God who is the Creator of all things.
2. Sin is the transgression of God's righteous laws (1 John 3:4). Whenever we sin we break God's laws and whenever we break God's laws we sin. According to the Bible, sin includes acts such as lying, stealing, coveting another's possessions, etc. Sin offends God and sin prevents us from having a right relationship with God (Isaiah 59:2).
3. We
(humanity) have all broken God's laws and thus we are all guilty of sin (Romans 3:23).
4. One
day we all will stand before a perfect and just God, who will judge us on each
and every deed of our lives (Ecclesiastes 12:14). Our whole lives have been recorded by God, and we
all will have to face God face to face to be judged.
5. God
is a perfect and just judge therefore since God is a perfect and just judge, he
can not and he will not let any sin go unpunished. And, if God were to give us
justice in our present, sinful state as our sins righteously deserved then we
all would be righteously punished by God's wrath for being found guilty of sin (Nahum 1:3).
6. God
loved us enough to not leave us in our sinful state to be helpless and to be
one without hope. God loves us so much that he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, into
the world to offer all of us the way to be forgiven and saved from our sins so that we can have a right relationship with God (John 3:16-17, 1 Timothy 2:5-6).
What did Jesus do to save us from God's punishment of our sins
one may ask?
7. Answer:
Jesus Christ loves us so much that he freely took God's punishment for our sins
through his death on a cross (1 Peter 3:18, 1 Timothy 2:5-6). Jesus willingly offered unto God his sinless,
perfect life to pay the fine for our sins. The price for our sins is so great
that we could never afford to pay our sin debt ourselves but Jesus generously
paid in full our sin debt against God by laying down his own life for us on the cross.
8. After
Jesus' death on the cross, God raised Jesus Christ from the dead because God
was pleased with Jesus' sinless, perfect life and God was pleased with Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross (Acts 2:24, Romans 4:25). Now, God declares that we can receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23). If we receive eternal
life through God's Son, Jesus Christ, then on the Day of Judgment we can be
free from our sinful state because Jesus Christ has already paid in full our
sin debt for us through his death on the cross.
9. In
order to be saved from God's wrath on the Day of Judgment and to receive
eternal life through Jesus Christ, God commands all people everywhere to do 2 things. Yes, God promises
to forgive all our sins, save us, and give us eternal life if we do these 2 things:
- We must repent of our sins (our hearts must turn
away from sin) (Acts 17:30, Luke 13:3).
- We must believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who laid
down his life and died to pay the punishment for our sins, and we must
believe that he (Jesus) resurrected from the dead. God commands all people
everywhere to believe in his Son, Jesus Christ, if they want to receive
eternal life through him (John 3:36, John 6:28-29).
10. Jesus' perfect sacrifice
on the cross for us is our only hope for salvation, this is because there is no
other sacrifice that God will accept from us for our sins to be forgiven and
taken away by him (Acts 4:12). No other sacrifice other than Jesus' sacrifice on the cross
can pay the fine for our sins. Jesus Christ is the only way to God (John 14:6) because he
is the only one who lived a sinless, perfect life and he is the only one who died to pay the
punishment for our sins.
You must repent of all your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ in order to receive God's eternal mercy. Just pray this prayer:
Dear God, I'm guilty of sin and I repent of all my sins. Have mercy on me and forgive me for all my sins. I believe Jesus died for me and rose from the dead and today I accept Jesus as the Lord of my life. Help me to turn away from my sins and help me to follow Jesus. Thank you for being so good and thank you for giving me the promise of salvation. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer sincerely then rejoice! You've just received God's promise of eternal salvation! And all your sins have been forgiven! Please contact us so that we can email you more information to help you grow in your faith and get closer to God.
If you decided to reject God's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ then you are headed to a place of torment called Hell, also known as the Lake of Fire (Revelations 20:15). And, that would be the eternal punishment for your sins because there is no other way to be saved (Acts 4:12).
